Is it just me, or can we not zoom in and out of the map with the mouse scroll wheel

Raghu Hegde 12 years ago updated by Cheehan Tee 12 years ago 1
I am posting posting these as part of my user experience survey. So I observed that in any map, I cannot use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in or out of the map. I have to use the +/- or drag the thing between them, in the map, to zoom in/out. I would have liked the scroll wheel better

Thanks for the question. On pages where the page itself can be scrolled we disable the scroll-to-zoom feature on the map so as to allow users to scroll the page with the scroll wheel.

Could we get non-facebook logins?

Anonymous 12 years ago updated by Cheehan Tee 12 years ago 0
I am not a Facebook fan and / or user. I'd still like to share stuff with my friends.
Could there be a system where you can have a separate registration for this site that is not linked to Facebook?

Thanks for the question/suggestion. Yes, we will let users register with us directly in the future. We are also considering letting users register using other social networks like Twitter and Google+. Let us know which you prefer:
  1. Separate Roam7 registration process
  2. WIth Twitter
  3. With Google+
  4. Any others?

Hi Christian, I'm afraid currently you'll need to have a Facebook account to use Roam7. One of the main reasons is that Roam7 is a lot more useful when you and your friends are on it and logging in with your Facebook account lets us know who your friends are.
We do plan to support other mechanisms in the future and I started a thread on that:

http://support.roam7.com/topic/117171-let-non-facebook-users-sign-in/

Please vote for it and let us know your requirements.

Hi Raghu,
Thanks for the question. My original answer was deleted by mistake so here it is again.

Could you explain a little bit why you want to change the spelling of a location? Did you mean change the location? Location names are a finite set of values and you select one by picking from a list of suggestions that match what you typed. So you can't really change the spelling.

If you meant change the location, you can go into the Set Location mode (by selecting "Set Location" in the "Options" dropdown menu) from the story overview page. You can then set the location for the appropriate photos the same way you did originally.

Please let us know if you have further questions on this topic.

Integration with other social networks and blogging services is certainly something we want to do in the future. A widget is possible though it's too early to say for sure what form the integration will take. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Pea,
Assuming privacy controls have been added, could you help us understand why you would want to exclude the "people" photos from Roam7? Do you foresee keeping two versions of your travel photos - one version with people on Facebook and the other without people on Roam7?

Thanks.
