Suggestion for new user interaction

It would also be really cool if you had a drag tool which users could use to select an area of interest on the map and then show a list of all stories within that range.

Thanks for the suggestion. To clarify, is what you are suggesting a 'shortcut' for zooming in on an area and panning the map?
